Jocelyn Ram is IP counsel at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. She manages a diverse patent prosecution portfolio spanning biotechnology and AI/ML technologies and works closely with researchers and inventors to develop patent strategies and support licensing efforts.
With over 20 years of IP experience, Ram brings expertise in patent prosecution, strategy, and client counseling across biomedical engineering, surgical instruments, and computer-implemented inventions.
Prior to her current role, she served as senior IP counsel at Fountainhead Law Group and Erise. Ram began her career in private practice and later spent nearly eight years at the US Patent and Trademark Office as a primary patent examiner specialising in surgical and medical technologies, where she allowed over 400 patent applications.
She also contributed as a speechwriter and policy communicator, supporting senior USPTO leadership.
