Marisa Woutersen is a senior reporter for Life Sciences Intellectual Property Review and World IP Review. She largely covers intellectual property developments across the global life sciences sector, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medtech, AI, M&A and regulation.

Since joining Newton Media in 2023, Marisa has reported across a wide range of topics, from the rise of generative AI and its impact on the creative industries to the crossover between intellectual property and sport, including issues affecting athletes, as well as global pharmaceutical disputes, vaccine technology, access to medicines and life sciences M&A.

She has reported live from court and regularly travels to international conferences, where she interviews lawyers, business leaders and other key industry figures.

Marisa holds a Master’s in International Law and a BA in Politics and International Relations from the University of Sussex, and is currently completing her NCTJ Diploma in Journalism.
